Several Slices of American Pie

It's been a busy week around these parts. I like busy. Today is a day off for me and after going through my week's assignments I noticed a very Americana thread within the photos. These examples are my take on assignments that photojournalists have covered for many years and will continue to cover till we're all old and gray. They're also the ones I enjoyed working on.

The photos you're seeing come from three different days- An early morning balloon festival, a mobile food pantry, a 55+ singles club (they can cut a rug), and lastly a portrait about a neighborhood in the area. Thanks for looking.

Lastly, this is Tom Gardella. The paper is doing a story about the neighborhood he lives in and for a while the shoot was kind of boring photographically. It's not the most exciting thing in the world but as the sun was setting, a few pieces of Southwest Florida made their way into the photo making it something extra.
