Thousands Say Goodbye

This past Tuesday, I covered the funeral for eight of the passengers who were killed in a horrible accident on Friday, March 26. Seven of the passengers were a part of the Esh family out of Marrowbone, KY. The other was Joel Gingerich, the fiance of the one the Eshes, Rachel. The group was traveling to Iowa for a wedding when their church van was hit by a tractor trailer. The funeral saw over 3,000 people from all over the country. Most of the people that attended were from the Mennonite community from all around. I've never been to a funeral like this before. It was overwhelming in size but also how the Mennonite people view death. It is more of a divine experience and it was heavy in worship. Although it was a sad experience, it was also humbling to see how strong these people are. Here are some selects from throughout the day.
