After everything was finishing up and the survivors were getting their glamour shots taken the stress was lifted and it truly did boost the ladies' self-esteem. I think a quote from Sarah Taylor summed up their experience best, "I think it's great that people here are using their talents to help people feel beautiful," said Taylor.

Glamour For Survivors
Recently I photographed a group of local cancer survivors who got free makeovers from the non-profit group, Survivor Glam Squad. What this group does is travel to various cities to give makeovers to cancer survivors as an esteem building exercise. I was with this group from the beginning to the end and not only was their transformation evident on the physical side, but also psychological. At least two of the women seemed a little nervous/standoffish as things were getting going which I can understand. One woman, Sarah Taylor had just recently grown her hair back after going through chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer.
