Srebrenica

On July 11 over 50,000 people came to the town of Potocari to bury 775 Bosniaks who had been found throughout the year from exhumed mass graves from the genocide of the Bosniak men and young boys of Srebrenica in 1995 by Serbian VRS (Vojska Republike Srpske) soldiers. This was an overwhelming event to be a part of. There is still so much to be uncovered and people are still awaiting trial for crimes committed during the massacre. Seeing people bury their lost loved ones that they hadn't seen in 15 years and to put them to rest along with so many other people there for the same reason was a very eye opening experience. Here are some photos from the day before and the day of the ceremony.
