Nashville was hit with one the worst floods in many years. Roads flooded, cars washed away, homes were lost. I traveled to Nashville to check on the community of homeless that I have gotten to know for over a year when the floods kept rising. When I arrived it was almost covered in water. The camp lies along the Cumberland River under Interstate 40 in Nashville. It was a surreal sight. The community, which over 100 people claimed to be their home was destroyed. I was surprised to find a few people. The few people I did find I had known for awhile and talked with them for a bit but they didn't have a lot to say which I understood. Since I left, the water rose higher and everyone who lived there has been taken to various shelters across the city. After I left, I went to a water rescue where a group of people were watching at a nearby liquor store. It was tough shooting in such conditions but the moisture surrounding my camera was the least of my worries.
