FINAL PROJECT

This is a set of photos from my final project in my picture stories class. This is a story of the relationship between Natasha Speth, 28, and Phoenix Lindsey-Hall, 26. Their relationship has stemmed from something they both live and breathe: roller derby. Natasha was one of the women who started up a Louisville, Ky. roller derby league called The Derby City Roller Girls. The two started out as teammates on the team and their relationship grew from there. At first thhey were unsure on how the rest of the team would react but it didn't bother them. "We are a family, we help each other out, we party together, and we kick ass together," says Natasha.

I plan to continue this story throughout the summer because 1. I will live in Louisville and 2. Natasha and Phoenix are great to me and make it seem that they forget I have a camera with me. Tell me what you think, comments are welcome.

This came through my Google Alerts for my own roller derby league here in AZ. You truly capture a beautiful derby based relationship, the couples skate shot says it all.
