This Christmas morning I shot one of the more meaningful assignments for the CJ. I was assigned to shoot gift giving at Kosair Children's Hospital. There children with many different afflictions, from bone marrow transplants, asthma, and other illnesses. It was a humbling experience and to see how happy these children were when they saw Santa Claus come in made my day. Comments are always welcome and appreciated. Cheers! and Happy New Year!
I know, I have been slacking about putting pictures up recently. Well here are some selects of the past few times I have hung out with Phoenix and Natasha. They are both going through a transition period in their lives. Here are some photos from the annual DCRG Prom where the girls dress up and recognize each other of their accomplishments throughout the year. Natasha won MVP of the team, seen in the photo of the fist in the air. There are also a couple from a recent party at the Monkey Wrench where Phoenix was crowned Full Contact Musical Chairs Champ. This Winter should involve a lot of shooting from stories and other random occurrences. I hope to update frequently. Until then, comments are always welcome and appreciated. Cheers!
Here are some portraits I did on my street, Kentucky St. I used them for our photo column for class but it was really cool just taking a few pictures of someone and getting their story from them. There are a lot of interesting characters on Kentucky St. It is cool what you can get from just stopping them on the street and getting their picture. Like always, comments are welcome and appreciated. I kept them small because if they were at full size it would make the screen look crazy so take some time to give them a click and read their story. I thought the design looked pretty cool, but I could be wrong. Let me know! Cheers!
This past Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2008. There were reports of gun shots being fired on WKU's campus. It turns out that no gun shots were ever fired and incident stemmed from a large fight in front of Pearce Ford Tower. The reports caused WKU's campus to lock down. No one was allowed in or out of buildings and Bowling Green and WKU police surrounded the campus heavily armed and ready for practically any sort of suspects. The confusion throughout the day was really exciting for me and other student photojournalists. Our photo coverage landed us spots on CNN.com, USATODAY.com, The Louisville Courier-Journal, and other publications throughout the country. As always, comments are welcome and appreciated. Cheers!
